Membership Is Important to MPIRG for Several Reasons // It is a signal of our political strength to legislators. We have over 35,000 citizen members we can mobilize behind legislation across the state, making us unique in the state in our ability to provide support for consumer, social justice and environmental protection legislation.
It gives us the financial resources we need to win on our issues. MPIRG is very unique in the amount of revenue that has come from its community members and from student contributors. This gives us independence beyond almost any other nonprofit in the state, allowing us to respond quickly and directly to the day's unique challenges.
